Dear Parents, Guardians, and Stakeholders:

It’s hard to believe that the 2021-2022 school year is upon us already! This is going to be an exciting year for Eastside Elementary School, because we have most of our teachers and staff returning. We also have some wonderful teachers and staff members joining us for the first time! I would like to formally introduce myself to everyone.

I would like for everyone to know that I am thoroughly enthusiastic about serving as your principal! I’ve been an educator since the fall of 2004. I began my teaching career at the same middle school in which I attended as a student. In doing so, I knew about the culture and expectations of the school. They didn’t change from when I was a student. We were known for excellent academic standards and athletics. I taught 6th grade reading and I coached football, basketball, and track. While coaching, I developed a rapport with not only the students that I taught, but students in other grade levels as well. This is also when I noticed that supporting students outside the classroom helps support the learning that takes place inside the classroom.

In the fall of 2007, I moved to from Delaware to Georgia and continued my teaching career at the elementary level. I taught 5th grade reading, writing, science, and social studies throughout my time there. While at Mt. Carmel, I developed a special love for teaching science. I worked closely with the Douglas County 4H Program and I also facilitated the science fair for the school. I absolutely love educational technology! I am looking forward to working with everyone as it relates to technology and supporting student growth as it relates to implementing technology into daily classroom lessons.

I graduated from Berry College in May with a specialist degree in school leadership. I also graduated from Wilmington University with a master’s and bachelor’s degree in educational technology and primary education. I consider myself a lifelong learner, because I love teaching and I also love learning new things!

I would not be where I am today if it were not for the love and support from my family. I have been married to my wife Ramia for seven years. We have three beautiful children, Timothy Jr., Timiya, and Taylor.

In closing, I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and I know it sounds cliché, but my door is always open if you have questions or concerns.

Educationally yours,

Timothy B. Jenkins, Sr.
