Eastside Elementary Photography & Technology Club

The Eastside Photography & Technology Club is an afterschool enrichment program for 4th & 5th grade students. We have won several thousand dollars in awards for our videos, photographs, and slideshow presentations from local corporate sponsors. Students engage in learning experiences using a variety of digital technology and media where they become the directors, script writers, photo journalists, models, actors, and editors! Their images and projects portray the world as they see it while enabling them to develop skills that enhance their educational experience here at Eastside.

In 2015, we added computer coding as part of the club's rotation of activities. We use Code.org resources and create our own games and storyboards. Future computer engineers in the making! In 2016, our all girl coding team was selected to demonstrate their coding skills at the GA Educational Technology Conference (GaETC) in Atlanta, GA. Students had the opportunity to share their computer coding knowledge with over 4,000 educators in attendance! It was an amazing experience!
