Welcome to the Media Center!

The Eastside Media Center serves our students and staff as a resource for informational literacy skills and digital citizenship. It is our goal to instill a love of reading and to impress upon our students the value of becoming a true reader.

Students in grades one through five may check out two books for a two week period (K' starts with one book at  time). Students are unable to check out additional books until overdue books are either returned or compensation is made for the loss.  We do our very best to teach students how to care for the books so they are here for others to enjoy for years to come & so that no one loses their checkout privileges.

The media center promotes reading throughout the year with such programs as Six Flags Read to Succeed, our AR program, MyOn, Read Across America Week & Scholastic Book Fairs. Please encourage your child to read every day so he/she can be participants in these programs & be recipients of the incentives that go along with each!

Volunteers are always welcome in the media center! We are a very busy place and we love meeting parents and others who want to get involved. Please email me, Dr. James, if you would like to help in some way or just have questions about ESES's media center 'happenings!'  Also, please be on the lookout for Dr. James new page, "Turn the Page With Dr. James", which will be going live very soon!
